At the peak of my nonprofit career, my dad had a fall and ended up in a coma. He made a miraculous recovery, and I knew I wanted to live closer to him. I moved to North Carolina with the guy I had just started dating—and three months later, I was pregnant.
In four years, I navigated healthcare for my dad’s recovery, pregnancy and birth, becoming a stay-at-home mom and almost solely relying on my husband, the sudden loss of my mom and her estate, buying a home, and setting up savings, a 529, investments, and retirement.
The practical side of finances was easier to learn. Understanding my blocks, fears, and how to move through them has been the harder part.
What helped most wasn’t an advisor, an app, or my family. It was talking with other women—some with practical knowledge, others facing the same private struggles. Both were equally valuable.
For more than 15 years, I’ve facilitated women’s circles, dialogue groups, and conscious communities around the world. And it never ceases to amaze me what's possible when we make space to gather, listen, and share.
Like parenthood, I believe we learn best from each other when:
... we feel safe to share without shame or judgment,
... we see new possibilities modeled by others,
... and we realize we’re not alone.

Learn moreFor the first time, I left a money conversation feeling lighter—not smaller.
The clarity changed everything. I had a plan by the end, but more importantly, I trusted myself again.
It felt like talking to the smartest, kindest friend at the table.
No jargon, no shame, no pretending. Just the clarity I needed.
I finally understood why I kept avoiding my finances—and what to do next.
The gathering was warm, useful, and completely unlike any money event I’d attended.
I came for practical advice and left with a whole new relationship to possibility.
